How to obtain internet in Egypt using UBUNTU netbook 10.4 without BULGIE FAT ISP.

Using 3g phone as a modem is very comfortable with carriers like VODA, ETISALAT, MOBILIN and neatly swiftly super easy to reconfigure in diff. laptops and workstations.

Things need are netbook 10.4 livecd, a mobile phone with load and a laptop or desktop with cdrom(for livecd).

Ubuntu live cd is really fine, you can run the O.S without installing it.
Use start-up perdrive for newer laptop/netbook that don't have cd/dvd's.

Step1. Reconfigure GPRS/MMS.
Connect phone into usb. Find network manager applet.
Click "New Mobile Broadband Connection " , and you ready to go .

Choose your carrier.

Step 2 , Go to the "Network Manager Applet" and find the "VPN Connection" .
Click "Configure VPN".

 

Edit according to the networks APN.
